Apart from their passion for cycling, it is a debate about life that begins between them.

Défense d’aimer
Fiction
Rodolphe Marconi, France, 2002, 35mm, 96 min.

Bruce arrives in Rome for a one-year stay at the villa Médicis. After a short while, cut off from the world and his daily habits, he learns to live an imposing surrounding, in a magnificent palace, yet solemn with it’s unsettling garden and some untalkative lodgers. One day, he meets Matteo, a young Roman, and learning administration for the villa. Matteo will interfere in the life of Bruce. He comes to see him without letting him know before hand, as he must discover the city and it’s churches, paintings, fountains, it’s marble. Matteo hangs around Bruce.

Frightened, Bruce allows himself to enter an undefined relationship where they have little in common, a cruel irritation and a lovers game. Then arrives Aston, a lodger and writer fascinated with serial killers.
